The 2019 Lamborhini Urus, fastest SUV in the world

Lamborghini has finally introduced a supercar that you can drive every day without fretting about damaging the super-expensive bodywork on every other speed hump.
Yes, the Lambo SUV is finally here and it looks just as sharp and crazy as all the supercars the Italian marque has ever built. Called the Lamborghini Urus, it’s named after a whole breed of bulls instead of a particular fighting bull like most Lamborghinis. The Urus was first showcased in its concept form at the 2012 Beijing auto show and its incredible Lamborghini hasn’t changed much in terms of design on the production version. All the striking design features of the concept have been retained and it’s unmistakably a Lamborghini.

The Urus is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that delivers 650 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. Lamborghini claims the Urus has the best weight-to-power ratio of any SUV on the market which has helped it to become the fastest production SUV in the world. The Italian carmaker quotes a 0-62 mph (Kmh 100) time of 3.6 seconds, a 0-124 mph (kmh 200) time of 12.8 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph (Kmh 305) for the Urus, which can put many modern sport cars to shame. The largest carbon-ceramic brakes ever to be fitted on a production car, adaptive air suspension, active roll stabilization, and 4-wheel steering are also part of the package. Lamborghini plans to build about 1,000 units of the SUV next year then increase the volume to 3,500 annually starting in 2019 which will double the company’s production. There is no word on the pricing as of yet but it is expected to start below $200,000. (Euros 169.800).

Tesla’s new Roadster will be the fastest production car ever made

At yesterday’s Tesla event for unveiling the company’s all-new electric semi-truck, as a finale to the evening, Elon Musk took the motoring world by surprise when he showcased a new Roadster, the new version of its original sports car.
Musk introduced it by calling it “a hardcore smackdown to gasoline cars.” It’s the fastest production car ever made, according to him, with speeds of just 1.9 seconds for 0 to 60 4.2 seconds for 0 to 100. It can even do the quarter mile run is just 8.9 seconds. Those figures are absolutely wild and never heard of on a production car. “It’ll be faster than that jet over there,” Musk joking remarked, as an airplane soared over the exultant crowd crammed into Tesla’s Hawthorne, California facility.

But those numbers are nothing in comparison to the top speed hinted by Elon Musk. The roadster might have a top speed in excess of 250mph (402kmh), which is absolutely crazy for an all-electric car. And the roadster can do all this with a 2+2 seating and a claimed range of 620 miles (1000km)  per charge. The Roadster is propelled by three electric motors, one at the front and two at the back, taking power from a 200kwh battery pack – twice the capacity of the Model S P100D. The electric supercar will be available in 2020 starting at $200,000 (Euros 169.600), with the first 1,000 sold being Founder’s Series models that will retail for $250,000 Euros 212.000) a pop.

Aston Martin DB11 Volante: return of the ultimate convertible Sports GT

Freshly unveiled, the Aston Martin DB11 Volante Convertible is the latest evolution of the iconic GT Sports. Powered by a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, the Aston Martin DB11 Volante has not finished to impress.

ASTON MARTIN DB11 VOLANTE: AN EXCEPTIONAL CONVERTIBLE

The Aston Martin DB11 Volante has the privilege of being considered as the most elegant convertible of the English manufacturer. It is an exceptional combination of performance, efficiency and sporting character. The DB11 Volante is now setting new standards of performance, innovation, engineering and style to create this GT Sports Cabriolet.

Thanks to its new 4.0-litre twin-turbo engine, the DB11 Volante has a brand new aluminum structure. The DB11 Volante goes from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.1 seconds and can go up to 300 km / h. The car has been designed to provide an extraordinary range of capacity … the level of performance and handling has been accentuated. It is certainly one of the most prestigious GT Sports cabriolets on the market.

A PLEASANT CAR TO DRIVE

The interior of the DB11 Volante is comfortable, refined and especially spacious to stick to its image of grand tourer. In addition to its heated steering wheel that offers a real comfort in all seasons, the DB11 Volante has an 8-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission. Thanks to the technologies offered in the convertible, the driver can configure the car according to the road, weather conditions or simply his mood.

AN ELEGANT AND SPORTING LOOK

The DB11 Volante has a remarkable one-piece aluminum hood with the aerodynamic innovation “Curlicue”. Seen from the inside, the new wood or carbon fiber veneer panels on the seat backs offer unparalleled style to the latest Aston Martin convertible. The sporty side of the DB11 Volante is definitely emphasized by the superb C graphic-shaped tail lights.

AN INNOVATIVE ROOF

The defining feature of the Aston Martin DB11 Volante is obviously its convertible roof. Combining the timeless appeal of a fabric hood with the latest acoustic and insulating materials, the roof cossets occupants from extreme weather and wind noise. The roof of the DB11 Volante only takes 14 seconds to lower and 16 to close. It can be operated remotely from the key or on the move at speeds of up to 50 km / h with a headwind of the same strength. The new system also allowed a 20% gain on the boot volume compared to the DB9 Volante.

To test the resistance of this incredible roof, engineers have subjected the roof to more than 100,000 cycles in special weather chambers that reproduce the most hostile environments in the world, compressing 10 years of use in one-month test. The results of the Life Cycle Durability (LCD) test were then validated with real-world tests with prototypes.

The Aston Martin DB11 Volante is the most advanced and complete open-top ever built by the English manufacturer. Styled to put rivals in the shade and created to achieve the perfect balance of driving, handling, responsiveness and refinement, the DB11 Volante is designed to provide the ultimate driving pleasure.

WORLD PREMIÈRE OF THE “REMBRANDT BUGATTI”

Bugatti is continuing its six-part edition series, “Les Légendes de Bugatti”, at the Geneva International Motor Show to honor some of the more important people in the company’s history. Last year the long-established French brand successfully presented the first three Legends models.

All nine vehicles of these model series have been sold. Now Bugatti is celebrating another high point with its fourth legend – named in honor of Rembrandt Bugatti, brother of company founder Ettore and one of the most important sculptors of the early 20th century. As with the other Legends models, only three will be manufactured

The Legends edition

The “Rembrandt Bugatti” is the fourth Legend from the brand. To launch the “Les Légendes de Bugatti” edition last year, Bugatti presented “Jean-Pierre Wimille” at California’s Pebble Beach, “Jean Bugatti” at the IAA in Frankfurt and “Meo Costantini” at the Dubai Motor Show. All nine vehicles of these three Legends have been sold. “The Legends edition is a great success for Bugatti. The response from our customers is amazing,” said Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S.
The “Rembrandt Bugatti” is based on the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse. Its 8 litre W16 engine achieves an unparalleled torque of 1,500 Nm from 1,200 PS at 3,000–5,000 rpm, and can accelerate from 0–100 km in 2.6 seconds. With a maximum speed of 408.84 km/h with the roof down, the Vitesse is the fastest production roadster ever built.
“Rembrandt Bugatti had a special talent for capturing the movement of animals at their most expressive moment,” explains Achim Anscheidt, Head Designer at Bugatti. “The patina, the soul and the crafted character of his bronze sculptures guided us to the colour and material choices in the Legend car that carries his name.” Anscheidt continues: “The result is a super sports car that fuses beauty and elegance with great dynamics and sporting appeal.”
The body of the “Rembrandt Bugatti” Legend Vitesse was designed in the “horizontal split”, and is largely composed of bronze-coloured clear-coated carbon as a gesture to the artist’s favoured material. The vehicle’s lower half is painted in an elegant light brown, “Noix”. The famous Bugatti horseshoe gleams in platinum from the front grille, with platinum also ringing the EB logo at the vehicle’s rear. The wheels are painted in dark “Firefinch” and light “Noix” browns, and these colours combine to complete the elegant appearance and set the super sports car off against the asphalt. In reference to the artist and Legends car’s namesake, Rembrandt Bugatti’s signature has been lasered onto the petrol and oil cap.
The elegant and harmonious appearance continues in the vehicle’s interior. The Vitesse is completely upholstered with leather in light brown “Cognac”. The rear centre box between the seats has a striking design. It proudly sports Rembrandt Bugatti’s famous elephant sculpture, the hood ornament of the Type 41 Royale and today is the symbol for both the brand and the Legends edition. The elephant was cast in bronze with great technical skill and worked as an insert into the cover. The cover is made of bronze-coloured clear-coated carbon. The door trim is impressive evidence of Bugatti’s reputation for working high-quality materials in a unique style, with braided leather in the softly contrasting colours of “Cognac” and “Coffee”. This elegant design was developed exclusively for this Legends car
Platinum is also in evidence in the vehicle’s interior, on the EB logo on the steering wheel. Other interior details specific to this Legends Vitesse are the insert of bronze-coloured clear-coated carbon on the extended centre console with the lettering “Les Légendes de Bugatti” and Rembrandt Bugatti’s elephant, and the door sill plates displaying the sculptor’s portrait and signature.

In short, Rembrandt Bugatti is a super sports car that fuses beauty and elegance with great dynamics and sporting appeal. The “Rembrandt Bugatti” Vitesse costs €2.18 million Euro net and the three model series of the Legends edition have already been sold. Bugatti will present the fifth Legends model at the Auto China 2014 in Beijing taking place in April.
